Chatty, talkative, or gabby people can sometimes become a nuisance or even annoying. There was a little story that I once heard that I would like to share that perfectly illustrates the possible reason why some people like to hear themselves talk. I found it to be both humorous and mostly true.
The Lesson of a Wagon
As I walked on day with my father,
he suddenly asked me:
Besides the songs of the birds,
Do you hear anything else?
Yes, I answered. he noise of a wagon.
Excellent, he said. And it is empty.
Empty? And how do you know,
If we haven’t seen it?
Very easy: because of the noise it makes.
The emptier the wagon is,
The greater the noise it makes.
Since then…when I see someone
Talking too much, bragging of
What they have done, what they have,
And belittling others,
I seem to hear my father’s voice:
THE EMPTIER THE WAGON IS…THE GREATER THE NOISE IT MAKES!

Oh; I tend to agree! That has a ring of truth to it…..
